Art for Social Change- Free for Elementary students, 3:30-4:30 Wednesdays, May 10-31
The Boulder Ridge Mobile Home Park (in the clubhouse)
Join Audrey, (EC)^2 Program Director and teen-college aged volunteers for Art for Social Change this May 2017! Students will build social change robots from recycled materials, complete a mural, and engage in the creation of a community mandala. Art has been used to create positive social change for centuries. In addition to exploring the role that the arts continue to play when addressing social issues, students create public art to generate awareness about issues that directly impact themselves and the greater community. In the process, students acquire key public and artistic skills, build community, and recognize their inherent capacity to create change.
