Online virtual programming is currently underway, running through 6/30/2020. Focus areas include visual and culinary arts. Please contact us to learn more.

Elementary School - Sanchez and Pioneer

Art for Social Change

Through our Art for Social Change program, The Empowerment Center invites elementary-aged students to explore themes of identity and social justice through artistic self-expression. Students gain essential skills in leadership, relationship-building and the arts while discovering the power of art to build community and improve our world.

We run after-school programs at several local schools and community centers. Please check back for details on Fall 2020 programming coming soon.

Middle and High School - Angevine and Centaurus

Open to any Lafayette middle/ highschool resident

Lafayette Peer Empowerment Project (LPEP)

LPEP supports Lafayette middle and high school students aiming to stay in school, pursue post-secondary education and secure employment. With the support of Centaurus High School seniors and alumni, who serve as paid facilitators and mentors, participants develop essential skills in leadership, communication and self-advocacy. LPEP meets as an after-school program during the academic year and an intensive, four-week program in the summer. It is open to all students, regardless of what school they attend.
